Dhai Akhar National Level Letter Writing Competition 2024-25
In an era where communication has largely shifted to digital platforms, the timeless art of letter writing has taken a backseat. However, the importance of handwritten letters remains unmatched, carrying a sense of nostalgia, warmth, and a personal touch that modern technology struggles to replicate. Recognizing this, India Post has launched the “Dhai Akhar National Level Letter Writing Competition 2024-25” to revive and celebrate the tradition of letter writing.
The Significance of Letter Writing
Handwriting is a fundamental skill that not only impacts students’ reading and writing but also plays a crucial role in brain development. Research indicates that handwriting enhances critical thinking and success in other academic subjects. While digital platforms dominate today’s fast-paced world, letter writing continues to serve as a powerful form of self-expression, creativity, and connection.
The Dhai Akhar competition provides a platform for individuals across India to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas in a meaningful, heartfelt manner. This annual initiative aims to foster creativity, critical thinking, and empathy while encouraging participants to showcase their writing skills.

To engage participants and the public, a traveling photo booth and letterbox will be set up in various educational institutions, encouraging students to immerse themselves in the world of letter writing. Additionally, philately quizzes and activities will be organized, fostering a deeper understanding of India’s cultural heritage as depicted through stamps.
